St. Mary's Episcopal Church

A Christ-centered community with a mission to express God's love for all people.

Community Life for Children

We love kids!  Please help us include your child in the full life of the community!

Participate with them in church-wide clean-up days, or the decorating of the church for Advent, or setting up tables for a picnic, or loading the dishwasher after coffee hour, or
p
lanting flowers in the garden.  Rather than seeing these as chores to be done, we see them differently.  They are an opportunity to get to know each other better, and a chance for young peope to feel like an important part of our community.

St. Mary's is a place that likes to party!  Almost all of our events are either geared to incorporate children or have a parallel children's program happening at the same time.

Our goal is to create many intergenerational relationships.  At these social evens your child has a chance to know and be known by people who have promised to know their name and help raise them in the Christian faith and life.

Things that are especially fun for children are:

The Talent Show

This is a hoot of a night, where people of all ages display their hidden talents.  Can you cartwheel?  Tell a joke?  Sing a song?  Whistle?

The Epiphany Party

This happens after the 10am service on the Sunday of Epiphany.  We have a pinyata filled with candy, and a cake in which one lucky person will find a hidden ring.  That person gets to be royalty for a year!

Clean-up Days

We all pitch in twice a year to pull weeds and wash windows and paint walls and other such household tasks.  There's always something great for small hands to do!

Hanging of the greens - and their unhanging too!

Every year for Christmas we hang all sorts of pretty greenery to put up, and bows to hang.  And needles to clean up!
