Curious

Curious?

So - here you are,

poking around St. Mary's website,

wondering what these people are all about?

Wondering if you might

like it here?

Wanting to see if we are whacko wingnuts

or people you like?

Or both?

Well, you'll have to decide that for yourself.

Take a look around the website.                     Here you'll find answers to commonly asked questions.

But maybe yours aren't so common.

In that case, give us a call.    One of us, likely LeeAnne our priest, can buy you a latte and hear what you are wondering about.

Not that she has the answers,

(it's a very Episcopalian thing not to have the answers),

but still.

Coffee is nice.

What would you like to know about us?

We're fun, there's that.

We come from all over the Twin Cities as well as from the neighborhood. We are young and old, single and partnered, gay and straight, republican and democrat. We are students and homemakers and unemployed and all sorts of professions.  We just did a census of the congregation, learning we have 318 members making 149 households.  It turns out that 1/3 of us are under the age of 18.  1/3 of our households are single people.   Half of us travel over 2 miles to get here, some from as far away as Red Wing!  47 people are involved in our music program, and 91 participate in leadership of Sunday morning worship.  Moderately interesting stats, eh?

We take very seriously the call to live out our Baptismal Covenant -

seeking and serving Christ in all persons, striving for justice and peace, and respecting the dignity of every human being.

Each Sunday we invite everyone -  and we mean everyone -

no matter who you are or aren't, what you've done or left undone, what radical ideas you have about this or that, whether you doubt the existence of God or not, or have issues with institutional religion (don't we all?)

  1. -everyone is invited to the feast.

It is God's table and not our table,

and all people are welcome

to receive holy bread and wine.

But - first things first!

Look around, call us, and stop by sometime.

We are delighted you are poking around.
