Do you sometimes say to yourself:
"If they only knew what I really thought. . ."
Do you cross your fingers or bite
your tongue
during parts of
the service?
Do you think you're too 'out there' to be here?
You are not alone!
The Heretics Group is a place for lively and challenging discussion
about faith and. We have more questions than answers, more doubts than
certainties, and your ideas, no matter how 'out-there', will be
respected. Faith is a process, not a product, and we are here to engage
with each other in that process.
Past topics have included: Jesus, Eucharist, the Christmas story, faith vs.
belief, the nature of God, sin and sinners, resurrection and prayer.
This year's topics will be decided by the group as we go.
A heretic may be defined as "someone who sees a truth that
contradicts the conventional wisdom of the institution-and remains
loyal to both entities".
This group is facilitated by Nina Johnson, Ruth Wiese and the Rev. Grant Robinson.
